]]>The post Brakeaway Cruise Control appeared first on Biker Fury.
]]>We recently purchased a Brakeaway Cruise Control for one of our motorcycles that did not have an option for electronic cruise. As this was for a Harley we purchased model 7CP06 and with the help of a friend we were able to install it using the instructions that came in the packaging.
While we were able to do the install ourselves we did rely on a good friend of ours who actually rebuilds motorcycles to help out. On a Harley, this is not a quick install and it is recommended that you make sure you have all the necessary tools before starting. All in all we had it installed, adjusted, and fully tested in under 3 hours. Could it be done quicker? Absolutely but hey sometimes you just need to catch up with your friends so you take your time.
The Brakeaway Cruise Control not only works well, but looks natural once you have it installed. It also has the added benefit of disengaging when you compress the hand break. While you can adjust your throttle while it is engaged and can release it with the press of a button it is really nice not to have to remember to disengage it when breaking quickly. The brake release is the exact reason we decided on the Brakeaway and not a basic throttle lock.
This particular cruise control fits most 1996 and newer Harley Davidson Motorcycles with throttle cables
Brakeaway offers cruise controls for Harley-Davidson, Honda, Indian, Yamaha, Triumph, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Victory.
Cruising down the highway on your motorcycle will be much more enjoyable when you have a cruise control to maintain a steady speed and not have to worry about the throttle every second of the ride. If you are looking for an after market cruise control solution for your motorcycle and you want something that looks integrated with the factory controls and has convenience and safety built in then this is what you are looking for.

]]>Have you ever just wanted to ride and enjoy nature? Well we recently did a ride through the Ocala National Forest. It was a nice long ride, peaceful, relaxing, and so much fun that we recommend it to everyone that needs to release a little stress or that just wants to be outside riding.
We started in Winter Garden and made a very large loop and returned to Winter Garden. Ride time without stops is just over 5 hours, but with fuel breaks, lunch, and just getting off the bikes to stretch the entire trip took us about 7 hours and 40 minutes. So be warned, this is an all day trip so pack accordingly and remember to fuel up before you tank gets below 25%.
We will be adding detail steps for this ride in our members only area once we have that portion of the website active. This will give you printable step by step directions along with where we stopped for fuel, where we stopped just to look around or stretch, and where we ate lunch.

]]>We decided to do a breakfast ride as the weather indicated it was going to be hot later in the afternoon and we wanted to be home before the heat really set in.
Our destination was The Tennessee Truffle in Sanford Florida. We even called ahead and made reservations as their website lead us to believe that was the best way to ensure we had a table.
Overall the experience was average. The food was good, but the service was a bit lacking. When we arrived they had a table for 2 in the middle and they directed us to it. The were plenty of open seats to one side of the table and we requested to be moved to a two top that was opened, but were told that it was being held for a large group. However within 15 minutes of us sitting down they seated two other guest at the table we requested and we never did see a large group show up.
In addition the service was slow form taking our order to bringing us our food. They were quick to remove our empty plates and present us with a check though. Well we took the hint and got out of there.
Now here we are in downtown Sandford on a Saturday, so we visited the local street vendors and walked through a nice art gallery where we met some really nice artist.
Our reaction to the days ride was that the ride was great, the visit to Sanford was enjoyable, and the breakfast was ok. We will visit Sanford again, but it is unlikely we will return to The Tennessee Truffle due to the service.

]]>We took a ride to Silver Springs Florida and stopped off at Kern’s Family Kitchen for lunch.
The food was good, the hospitality was great, and the desert we took home for later was also good. Overall we enjoyed our visit to Kern’s and recommend to those of you traveling through the area. They have indoor and outdoor seating available and if you elect to sit outdoors you will over look the water.

]]>Between Homosassa Florida and Crystal River Florida is the Ozello Trail.
This is a two lane blacktop stretch of road that is about 9.5 miles long and has around 65 curves. It has water views, marshland views, and near the end of the trail it has a restaurant on the right hand side that you can stop at for food/drinks.
Since this road ends at the ocean, you will get the enjoyment of riding it a second time as you head back to Hwy 98.
Because of the views, the curves, and the food this is a trip we take at least once a year and if you are visiting the area we recommend the ride (or drive) to anyone that has not experienced it before. Keep in mind that there are many sharp curves and not everyone stays on their side of the road, so take it easy and enjoy the ride.

]]>This is a popular destination for those who ride in Central Florida. Not only is this place located directly on Lake Harris, but it also offers plenty of views of the water. On the weekends they have live music, and the typically reserve the paved parking lot of Motorcycles only (with the exception of 1 spot reserved for the live entertainment)
They offer food and a full service bar. They also have docks for those who want to arrive via boat.
Be aware of two things.

]]>We recently decided to upgrade our blue tooth communication systems in our helmets. After looking at all the options we settled on the Sena 50S.
The Cardo was a close second, but we liked the Sena better. So far we have been using the 2 units we purchased for about 4 months now. The sound quality of the music is really good, the sound quality of our conversations with each other is a bit scratchy but still good. Overall we enjoy being able to talk to each other and listen to our music when nothing is needed to be said.
We did notice that if you do not set up a private mesh channel there are other riders out there that utilize the open channels and while in range they are part of your group and can participate in your conversation. So be careful what you say if on an open mesh channel.
